Reuse, Renew, ReShirt

Every T-shirt deserves to be cool. — August 17, 2009

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Every T-shirt deserves to be cool. So, Toolbox Creative is throwing a two-day ReShirt printing party on August 21 and 22 to keep millions, okay maybe dozens, of ugly T-shirts on people and out of the rag pile.

The green-minded graphic design and marketing firm began the Toolbox T-shirt Rescue Program after finding that its re-purpose in the world is giving new life to old tees.

Toolbox Creative is setting up a temporary screen-printing studio at Art Lab Fort Collins, an experimental, cooperative public art space currently located at 140 West Mountain Avenue. Art Lab is open and free to all fine artists, hobbyists, innovators, creatives, musicians and performers who have something to share with the community.

The ReShirt screen-printing marathon is from 6pm – 9pm on Friday, August 21, and from noon – 6pm on Saturday, August 22. Anyone is invited to bring an old T-shirt with crummy original design to the FREE party at Art Lab, and the Toolbox crew will turn it into a bonafide piece of wearable art right on the spot.

“Some guys swear they saw Ozzy Osbourne at the Alamo, and they now have ReShirts to commemorate that historic event,” said ReShirts, Art Lab and Toolbox Creative co-founder Dawn Putney. “We encourage people to visit Art Lab, give their T-shirt a makeover, and help us make history in downtown Fort Collins.”

With permission from owners, Art Lab Fort Collins temporarily fills vacant commercial space in Old Town with art, music, smiling faces and good energy. When a new tenant moves in, Art Lab finds its next home at another empty space downtown. Find out more at www.artlabfortcollins.com.
