Graphic Design Internship | Fall 2019

Part-Time (12 to 24 hours per week)
$9 per hour

Position Description

Graphic design interns are supervised by the senior designer and are responsible for reporting to the project manager. They work on a variety of projects both on- and offline — including design for print, web and the wonderful world of Microsoft templates. As well as producing well-crafted design, interns are expected to be personable, articulate, organized and proactive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the production of marketing and promotional materials to facilitate the implementation of client communication strategies
  • Producing printed publications, e-communications and other promotional materials — from creative artwork to finished product — within corporate style guidelines and on deadline
  • Contributing to and maintaining a high standard of technical output
  • Owning responsibility for assigned projects and meeting deadlines

Key Experience and Skills

  • AAS, BA or BFA in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts or related field
  • Excellent design skills, attention to detail and ability to take direction well
  • Knowledge of publishing techniques
  • Knowledge of electronic communication methods
  • Experience of producing promotional material
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of clients
  • Experience of working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign
    • Microsoft Office
    • HTML and CSS capabilities are a big plus
